Do you wake up and find yourself stuck in memories of the past? Feeling unsafe to attach to others? Reacting in anger or fear instead of responding with compassion and understanding?
Reliving negative or traumatic experiences can lead to nightmares, sleep disruptions, anger, changes in appetite, anxiety, worry, and a pervasive negative view of yourself or others which can limit your ability to be productive and happy within your relationships. While it is impossible to eradicate the memory of the traumatic experience, it is not impossible to experience growth after trauma.
The human brain has the capacity to change throughout our lifetime. Negative experiences are most often present as strong neuropathways in the brain. However, the brain can change its attraction to negative pathways through the process of neuroplasticity using cognitive restructuring techniques including EMDR, Brainspotting and Neurofeedback.
The use of mind and body-based practices can assist a person to alter emotional reactions to negative memories. Just imagine how it would feel if you did not become angry, sad, or anxious
when exposed to a trauma trigger or negative memory! Post traumatic growth is not only possible…it is what you deserve.
I’m a proud Colorado native who has called Pueblo home for the past 25 years. I’ve been married to my wonderful spouse for 21 years, and together we’ve raised two amazing daughters who continually inspire me to grow and stay curious about life. Our household is full of love (and a little chaos!) thanks to our two labs, Lucy and Cooper, and our cat, Layla.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me outdoors soaking up Colorado’s beauty—whether it’s camping under the stars, hiking new trails, or exploring the mountains in my side-by-side. Nature is where I recharge and find perspective.
Professionally, I’m passionate about helping people break through barriers that keep them from achieving their goals. For the past five years, I’ve worked as a clinical counselor, helping individuals navigate personal challenges, build confidence, and find purpose. In addition, I serve as a vocational counselor with the State of Colorado, where I have the privilege of guiding people toward meaningful career paths that align with their skills, passions, and potential.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to become the best version of themselves. My mission—both personally and professionally—is to empower others to see their worth, pursue their goals with courage, and create lives they’re proud of.
